Nvidia Deploys 35 AI Supercomputers Across Europe to Expand Computing Footprint

1 reports · First detected 2026-06-23 · Last active 2026-06-23

Europe has been expanding its sovereign AI infrastructure in recent years through the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking, or EuroHPC JU, to reduce researchers’ and industries’ dependence on computing capacity from cloud providers outside the region. Nvidia is linking national computing centers, AI factories and academic and research institutions through its GPUs, InfiniBand networking and CUDA software. The infrastructure is critical to accelerating research in climate science, healthcare, clean energy and fundamental science.

Nvidia announced at ISC 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, on June 22, 2026, that 35 AI supercomputers were being built across 23 European countries to serve more than 3 million researchers. The systems will use its Hopper, Blackwell and subsequent Vera Rubin platforms. Nvidia said its technology supports more than 90% of Europe’s AI factories and that 800 AI exaflops have been deployed or announced since last year. The total investment was not disclosed.
