World Labs Acquires SceniX to Advance Spatial Intelligence in Robotics

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-23 · Last active 2026-07-23

World Labs, co-founded by AI pioneer Fei-Fei Li, develops world models designed to perceive, generate, reason about and interact with 3D environments. Its push into robotics matters because spatial intelligence must move beyond creating virtual scenes to predicting physical consequences and acting reliably in the real world. The company raised $1 billion on Feb. 18, 2026, including a $200 million strategic investment from Autodesk, giving it fresh capital to pursue physical AI.

World Labs said on July 21, 2026, that it had acquired U.S. robotics startup SceniX, bringing the company and its simulation expertise into World Labs. The buyer plans to combine spatial intelligence, world models, learning-based simulation and feedback from real-world training to develop robots that can perceive surroundings, reason about object motion and execute actions reliably. Financial terms were not disclosed, and World Labs gave no integration timetable or product launch date, saying more details on SceniX’s technology and roadmap would follow.
