Samsung Seeks AI Allies to Challenge Apple for Mobile AI Leadership
Samsung is accelerating its push into mobile AI and seeking to cement its first-mover advantage through an open partnership strategy. With Apple’s AI features not yet fully available, Samsung aims to offer a wider range of services on Galaxy devices, differentiating the user experience and competing for leadership in the mobile AI market.
TM Roh, head of Samsung’s mobile division, recently said the company was willing to forge strategic partnerships with more AI organizations, including OpenAI, and had integrated the Perplexity AI search engine into its mobile operating system. Reports did not disclose a signing date, investment amount or formal launch schedule for the partnerships.
