RateZip Brings Live US Bank and Mortgage Rates to ChatGPT
Consumer deposit and mortgage rates can change quickly, making static chatbot answers vulnerable to stale information. RateZip, an independent US consumer rates platform, uses the open Model Context Protocol to feed current, institution-published figures into AI assistants. The integration lets ChatGPT compare savings accounts, certificates of deposit and lending products while showing the source, observation time and applicable conditions, rather than presenting an uncited rate drawn from model training data.
RateZip said on Sept. 1, 2026, that its RateZip Deposit/Mortgage Rates app had launched in the ChatGPT app directory. The service covers high-yield savings accounts, CDs, conforming and jumbo mortgages, home equity loans and HELOCs through sortable, interactive cards. RateZip’s Aug. 26 index showed a handful of banks offering savings yields of about 4.00% APY, versus the FDIC national average of 0.38%. On a $25,000 balance, the company estimated the annual gap at roughly $905, excluding taxes and future rate changes.
