Instapaper Rolls Out Biggest iOS Update in a Decade
The Verge’s Installer, a weekly technology guide written by David Pierce, highlights apps, devices and media worth downloading or exploring. Its latest edition centers on Instapaper, the pioneering read-it-later service launched in 2008. The overhaul is significant as the long-running platform seeks to remain relevant in a crowded market for tools that save, organize and present online reading.
Instapaper on July 28, 2026, launched a rebuilt website, Instapaper 10 for iOS and AI Voices for Android, without disclosing a financial figure. The company said web pages now load more than 60% faster, while the iOS release — its biggest in over a decade — adds Liquid Glass styling, four reading fonts and a Home Screen widget. Installer also featured the history of the earliest chatbot, hands-on impressions of Meta smart glasses and recommendations spanning technology accessories.
