ChapsVision Challenges Palantir for European Defense Deals

Palantir has supplied data-analysis software to France’s General Directorate for Internal Security, or DGSI, since 2016, embedding the U.S. company in one of Europe’s most sensitive state functions. ChapsVision, founded in 2019, built its rival Argonos platform through 29 acquisitions. Its pitch — European control of data, infrastructure and software — has gained urgency as governments reassess strategic dependence on U.S. technology for defense and intelligence.

On June 16, 2026, French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said the DGSI had selected ChapsVision to replace Palantir. The contract is estimated at about €10 million, while migration may take two years and Palantir remains under a deal renewed in December 2025. Germany’s Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution also chose Argonos in May. With annual revenue of roughly €200 million, ChapsVision remains far smaller than Palantir but is using those wins to pursue more European government contracts.
