Pump.fun Launches Solana Bounty Platform GO, Raising Regulatory and Safety Concerns

4 reports · First detected 2026-06-05 · Last active 2026-06-09

Pump.fun is a major memecoin launch platform in the Solana ecosystem, and its livestreams have previously featured extreme content including self-harm and death threats. An amended complaint filed on July 22, 2025, accused the platform of selling unregistered securities, operating an illegal gambling business, wire fraud and unlicensed money transmission. GO identifies users only through their X accounts and wallets and has no KYC requirements, heightening concerns about money laundering, exploitation and illicit commissions.

Pump.fun launched GO on June 4, 2026, with a minimum bounty of $5 and funds held in escrow until the platform approves a submission. By June 5, it had 225 tasks, $115,000 in unclaimed bounties and 509 submissions. On June 7, Arivu completed a $2,630 bounty by getting a forehead tattoo. The misspelled tattoo spawned the BOUTYWORK token, whose market capitalization briefly exceeded $600,000, with more than $3.5 million in trading volume over 24 hours.
