Cloudflare Acquires VoidZero to Bolster AI Agent Development Push
VoidZero was founded in 2024 by Vue.js and Vite creator Evan You and develops JavaScript tools including Vite, Vitest, Rolldown and Oxc. As AI agents generate code at an accelerating pace, speed and consistency from building and testing through deployment have become bottlenecks. By bringing the toolchain in-house, Cloudflare aims to connect development workflows directly to Workers and its global edge network.
Cloudflare announced its acquisition of VoidZero on June 4, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the entire VoidZero team will join Cloudflare. Vite has more than 130 million weekly downloads, while the Cloudflare Vite plugin has reached 13.9 million, accounting for more than 10%. Cloudflare also pledged $1 million to establish an independent fund and said the related projects would remain vendor-neutral and licensed under the MIT License.
