Voice Actor Yuki Kaji Launches FRACTAL to Shape AI Voice Licensing

1 reports · First detected 2026-04-13 · Last active 2026-04-13

Generative AI’s expansion into voice acting has intensified concerns over unauthorized cloning, lost work and how performers should be paid when their voices are synthesized. Japanese voice actor Yuki Kaji launched the Soyogi Fractal project to mark his 20th year in the industry, building the AI character and voice software Soyogi Soyogi from his own recordings. The initiative aims to keep performers involved in licensing decisions while extending approved uses into synthesized speech, music and manga.

Kaji established Tokyo-based FRACTAL on April 9, 2026, becoming its representative director, president and CEO. The company will focus on voice-AI products and talent management, including subscription-based licensing designed to return recurring revenue to voice providers. Singing and speech voicebanks for Soyogi Soyogi were released in November 2024, while the conversational AI app “Soyogi Soyogi AI - 0rigin -” launched on March 8, 2026. FRACTAL disclosed no capital, fundraising or transaction value in its launch announcement.
