Blockworks Acquires Messari to Combine Crypto Data and Research

Blockworks and Messari were both founded in 2018. Blockworks focuses on crypto media, research and events, while Messari provides market data, on-chain analytics and research tools. The acquisition reflects an industry-wide consolidation of the information supply chain aimed at narrowing the information gap between token issuers and institutional investors.

Blockworks has announced its acquisition of Messari, combining trusted data, project disclosures and intelligence on on-chain activity. It will also use AI to enhance research workflows and build a crypto information platform serving both sides of the market. As of July 20, 2026, the companies had not disclosed the transaction value or an exact closing date.
