Envestnet to Acquire Vestmark, Expand Wealth-Tech Platform

2 reports · First detected 2026-09-15 · Last active 2026-09-15

Envestnet, the Bain Capital-backed wealth technology platform, serves more than one-third of U.S. financial advisers and has about $8 trillion in platform assets. Vestmark, founded 25 years ago, provides portfolio management technology, institutional-grade trading and outsourced investment services, supporting more than $2 trillion across 5 million accounts. Bringing the businesses together would broaden Envestnet’s reach among large wealth firms while adding trading, rebalancing and tax-transition tools as advisers face growing demand for personalized portfolios at scale.

Envestnet said on Sept. 9, 2026, that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Vestmark for an undisclosed amount, with closing expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 subject to customary conditions. The companies plan to invest in VestmarkONE, VAST and Vestmark’s Pulse AI monitoring tools, while developing new AI-enabled features for advisers. Envestnet said existing clients will not be required to migrate platforms, and Vestmark’s products, technology and client-facing teams will continue serving wealth firms, asset managers and advisers.
