World Food Programme System Hacked, Exposing Data of 600,000 Gaza Families

The United Nations World Food Programme's SRA system registers Gaza residents' need for food and cash assistance, making it a key platform for allocating humanitarian aid. WFP confirmed that unidentified actors breached the SRA system, exposing the names, identification numbers and mobile phone numbers of about 600,000 Palestinian families in Gaza. It did not disclose the exact dates of the breach or notification, or any associated financial losses. WFP has shut down the system and tightened cybersecurity controls, but it continues to face external criticism over the speed of its notification and its risk-assessment process.
