OppFi Posts Record Revenue, Watches Oil Shock on Borrowers

1 reports · First detected 2026-03-12 · Last active 2026-03-12

OppFi is a technology-enabled financial platform that partners with banks to serve U.S. consumers underserved by traditional lenders. Its personal-loan customers can be particularly exposed to swings in essential living costs, making a rapid rise in fuel prices relevant to repayment capacity and credit performance. The pressure underscores the importance of responsive underwriting, risk controls and pricing as macroeconomic conditions shift.

OppFi said on March 11, 2026 that revenue for the year ended Dec. 31, 2025 rose 13.5% to a record $597.05 million, while net income climbed 74.4% to an all-time high of $146.2 million. CEO Todd Schwartz said oil had surged from $80 to $120 a barrel in one week, while gasoline gained 64 cents a gallon over a month. OppFi is updating credit models more frequently and using risk-based pricing to manage the volatility.
