Arm Unveils Neural Graphics GPU, Xiaomi 18 Fold to Debut It

2 reports · First detected 2026-09-08 · Last active 2026-09-09

Arm has introduced the Mali G2-Ultra NX, bringing AI-powered upscaling and frame generation to a mobile GPU for the first time. The neural graphics features are designed to improve image quality and gaming frame rates without the power demands of rendering every pixel or frame conventionally, a key consideration as smartphone makers seek console-like visuals within tight thermal and battery limits.

Xiaomi’s 18 Fold will be the first flagship handset to use the Mali G2-Ultra NX and its technology, described as a mobile counterpart to Nvidia’s DLSS. Arm did not disclose a launch date, benchmark gains or financial terms for the partnership. The chip designer said it plans to extend the neural graphics platform beyond smartphones to tablets, Chromebooks and other mobile computing devices.
