S&P Global Expands Data Integration With Microsoft 365 Copilot

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-13 · Last active 2026-08-13

Microsoft 365 Copilot is evolving from a general workplace assistant into an agentic platform that can support research, modeling and multi-step analysis inside familiar productivity software. That shift increases the value of authoritative, traceable data: financial institutions need AI outputs grounded in licensed information, not merely generated text. By deepening its relationship with Microsoft, S&P Global is positioning its proprietary financial and energy intelligence closer to where analysts work and decisions are made.

On Aug. 12, 2026, S&P Global said it would expand the integration of its AI-ready data, insights and analytics across Microsoft 365 Copilot. Its Deterministic Retrieval service, also known as the Kensho LLM-ready API, will supply cited and verifiable results to a Copilot in Excel connector and a plugin for agentic workflows in Copilot Cowork. Customers can use the tools for company research, financial analysis, transcript intelligence, peer benchmarking and competitive analysis without leaving Microsoft 365. The companies did not disclose financial terms or a rollout timetable.
