Equals Taps Aiimi AI Platform to Bolster UK GDPR Compliance

2 reports · First detected 2026-08-26 · Last active 2026-08-31

Equals provides global money-movement services to businesses, making the handling of sensitive customer information a core operational risk. Under UK GDPR, companies generally have one calendar month to answer data subject access requests, or DSARs. Rising volumes and complexity have turned searches, reviews, redactions and disclosures into a costly compliance burden for financial firms, where manual processing can delay responses and introduce errors.

Equals said on Aug. 26, 2026, that it selected Aiimi’s Workplace AI platform and new SaaS deployment model, with the DSAR tool hosted in a secure cloud environment for its Data Protection Officer and IT team. The system can redact third-party data, remove duplicates, thread email chains, support communications with requesters and produce an audit log. DSAR-related complaints to the Information Commissioner’s Office from finance firms have risen 15%. Missed deadlines can trigger penalties of up to £17.5 million or 4% of annual turnover, whichever is higher.
