Wistron Opens $700 Million Texas AI Plant for Nvidia GB300

Wistron is a key manufacturing partner in Nvidia’s AI-server supply chain, and the D1 facility marks the Taiwanese electronics maker’s first U.S. production site. The project matters as cloud providers accelerate spending on AI data centers and suppliers move more assembly closer to customers. Local output can shorten delivery times and diversify manufacturing risk, while supporting Nvidia’s broader effort to build advanced AI systems in the United States.

Wistron opened the D1 AI smart factory in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 21, 2026. The nearly $700 million, 324,000-square-foot plant has begun mass-producing the first U.S.-made Nvidia GB300 compute boards and is designed to turn out tens of thousands of advanced boards a month. Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang joined Wistron Chairman Simon Lin at the ceremony, where Huang highlighted surging demand for AI factories. Wistron is also planning a D2 site at least twice D1’s size and expects the Texas operation to manufacture Nvidia’s Vera Rubin Superchip.
