Wistron Opens Texas AI Plant, Starts Nvidia GB300 Board Production

Wistron has opened its D1 smart factory in Dallas, Texas, expanding its US manufacturing footprint as hyperscalers accelerate investment in artificial-intelligence infrastructure. The site positions the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer closer to North American customers and gives it a role in Nvidia’s next-generation server supply chain, where computing boards are critical components. Local production could shorten delivery times and reduce exposure to cross-border logistics and trade disruptions.

The D1 facility formally opened in July 2026 and has begun volume production of its first Nvidia GB300 computing board. Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang attended the opening and said demand for “AI factories” remained extraordinary. Wistron is also planning a D2 plant with twice the scale of D1 as it prepares for the Vera Rubin product cycle. The company has not disclosed separate investment figures for the two sites or detailed their full production targets.
