Nvidia Nears $13 Billion Deal for Hugging Face
Hugging Face has become a key distribution hub for open-source and open-weight artificial intelligence, hosting models, datasets and developer tools used by researchers and companies. Acquiring the platform would give Nvidia a stronger position beyond its dominant AI chips, linking its GPUs and software stack more closely with the community and infrastructure through which AI models are developed, shared and deployed.
As of Aug. 29, 2026, Nvidia was reported to be nearing an acquisition of Hugging Face valued at about $12.9 billion to $13 billion, though no definitive agreement had been signed. Some reports put the proposed price at roughly 86 times the startup’s revenue and nearly three times its valuation from three years earlier. The terms could still change, and neither company has announced a completed transaction.
