Spielberg’s ‘Disclosure Day’ Rejects AI for Alien Voice

Universal Pictures’ “Disclosure Day,” directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Emily Blunt, centers on humanity confronting the truth about extraterrestrial life. The production arrives as generative AI gains traction across film and television, sharpening concerns among performers over the replication of voices, faces and creative work. That backdrop has made the movie’s approach to an otherworldly language a closely watched example of how major studios may draw boundaries around AI.

Blunt, citing her fear of AI’s role in performance, declined to use generative technology for the film’s non-human vocal effects.
