Checkout.com Handles About Half of Coinbase’s Non-US Acquiring
Coinbase relies on acquiring partners to connect customers’ fiat payments with card networks and banks as it expands beyond the United States. Checkout.com’s role in that infrastructure illustrates how established payments companies have become embedded in the cryptocurrency sector, helping exchanges support local payment flows, improve access to digital assets and scale operations across international markets.
As of Aug. 16, 2026, Checkout.com handles about 50% of Coinbase’s acquiring business outside the United States, according to the report, giving the payments provider a significant position in the exchange’s overseas transaction network. The report did not disclose the partnership’s start date, transaction volume or monetary value, but the share points to the scale of the relationship and Coinbase’s reliance on external payment infrastructure.
