Bitcoin Firm Nakamoto Posts $238 Million First-Quarter Net Loss Despite Sixfold Revenue Growth

1 reports · First detected 2026-05-14 · Last active 2026-05-14

Bitcoin firm Nakamoto is focused on expanding its Bitcoin treasury, related services and trading strategies, while using strategic acquisitions to broaden its operations. Its financial results are closely watched because the company’s business model and financial resilience depend on whether revenue growth can offset cryptocurrency price volatility and asset impairment charges.

Nakamoto completed two strategic acquisitions in the first quarter of 2026, helping quarterly revenue rise 500% from the previous quarter to six times the prior quarter’s level. However, falling prices for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies triggered impairment losses, leaving the company with a net loss of $238 million for the quarter. Chief Executive David Bailey said Nakamoto would continue pursuing its existing strategy.
