eToro Acquires MPC Wallet Startup Zengo for $70 Million
Israeli multi-asset trading platform eToro has long offered custodial crypto services. Zengo, founded in 2018, uses multiparty computation (MPC) to provide a self-custodial wallet with no seed phrase or single private key. The acquisition will help brokerage customers access on-chain finance while retaining control of their assets and reducing the risk of losing private keys.
eToro announced on April 15, 2026, that it would acquire Zengo for about $70 million, and completed the transaction on April 30. The company plans to integrate the two firms’ services, making it easier for users to access tokenized assets, prediction markets, perpetual contracts and yield-generating products. By the end of May, Zengo and Bit2C had together contributed 110,000 funded accounts.
