AI Coding Assistant Cursor Seeks $50 Billion Valuation
Anysphere launched AI coding assistant Cursor in 2022, using generative AI to help developers write, understand and modify code. As businesses accelerate their adoption of AI development tools, Cursor is competing directly with Anthropic's Claude Code in the enterprise market. Its pace of growth has also become an important gauge of demand for B2B software.
In July 2026, Cursor was reported to be in talks with investors to raise about $2 billion at a target valuation of $50 billion, nearly double its previous valuation. The company's annualized recurring revenue has surpassed $2 billion, rising from zero in about three years in what is regarded as one of the fastest growth records in B2B software history.
