BitMEX Q1 Report Shows Explosive Growth in Tokenized Commodities and TradFi Perpetuals
BitMEX released a market report for the first quarter of 2026 focusing on the growth of tokenized commodities, equities and traditional-finance perpetual contracts. These products allow investors to trade exposure to gold, silver, crude oil and stock prices through crypto-market mechanisms, underscoring the digital-asset market’s accelerating integration with traditional financial instruments.
The BitMEX report showed that TradFi perpetual trading volume surged more than fivefold in the first quarter of 2026. Sharp commodity-price swings drove weekly trading volume in tokenized perpetuals to $31 billion. Demand was particularly strong for gold, silver and crude oil, while commodity perpetual trading volume jumped as much as 65,000% at one point.
