LINE Pay First-Quarter Revenue Rises 16%; LINE Pay Money Turns Profitable in April
LINE Pay focuses on mobile and electronic payment services. Its subsidiary LINE Pay Money operates the LINE Pay Money service, which covers payment collection and disbursement, stored-value funds and small-value remittances. The subsidiary faced cost pressures from system development and market expansion during its initial setup. Its operating turnaround will determine whether the group can translate transaction scale into profits across its payments ecosystem.
LINE Pay reported first-quarter revenue of NT$2.097 billion, up 16% from a year earlier. As operations at its subsidiary gradually stabilized, LINE Pay Money posted an unaudited monthly profit in April. According to Financial Supervisory Commission statistics, it remained the industry leader by business volume in payment collection and disbursement, stored-value funds and small-value remittances.
