Visa Launches AI-Powered Digital Financial Assistant
As generative AI and digital finance gain ground, banks face growing competition for customers from third-party financial-management software. Payments giant Visa has launched AI Financial Assistant, a conversational tool integrated into partner banks’ mobile apps. The service draws on Visa’s vast transaction network to help financial institutions offer personalized financial guidance, curb customer attrition and retain control of critical data.
Visa unveiled the AI financial assistant on July 14, 2026, leveraging data from more than 300 billion transactions processed annually. To accelerate adoption, Visa plans to begin a pilot program with U.S. financial institutions in August 2026 before expanding it globally. In addition to spending analysis and subscription management, the assistant supports real-time card locking and security controls.
