DBS Hong Kong CEO Paredes to Retire, Taiwan Chief to Take Over

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-14 · Last active 2026-08-14

DBS Group is preparing a leadership transition in two key Asian markets as it seeks continuity across its Greater China operations. Sebastian Paredes has led DBS Hong Kong through 16 years of regulatory change, digital transformation and intensifying competition in wealth management. Hong Kong remains an important hub for the Singapore-based bank, making the succession significant for its regional strategy and management pipeline.

Paredes will retire as chief executive of DBS Hong Kong in March 2027 and subsequently serve as a senior adviser, the bank said. DBS Taiwan General Manager Nelson Wu will take over the Hong Kong CEO role as part of the management reshuffle. The appointment remains subject to approval by the relevant regulators, and DBS has not indicated that it will become effective before that process is completed.
