YouTube Adds Amazon to U.S. Shopping Affiliate Program

1 reports · First detected 2026-09-02 · Last active 2026-09-02

Social commerce platforms are racing to shorten the path from product discovery to purchase by embedding shopping tools directly into entertainment and creator content. Adding Amazon’s vast catalog gives YouTube a stronger commerce layer without requiring it to operate its own retail infrastructure, while giving Amazon access to shoppers before they visit its marketplace. The arrangement also expands commission opportunities for creators whose recommendations increasingly influence consumer spending.

YouTube said on Aug. 27, 2026, that Amazon had joined the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program in the United States. Eligible creators can tag Amazon products in Shorts, long-form videos and livestreams, allowing viewers to browse and buy featured items while creators earn commissions. Participants must link an active Amazon Influencer or Associates account to their YouTube channel. Amazon will supply a curated catalog of popular and trending products, while YouTube can automatically identify eligible items when creators enable autotagging. Financial terms were not disclosed.
