Sphere Labs Expands Cross-Border Payments Into Mexico

1 reports · First detected 2026-09-02 · Last active 2026-09-02

Sphere Labs is expanding into Mexico to serve companies moving funds between Mexican pesos and U.S. dollars for cross-border trade. The push targets a major commercial corridor where businesses must navigate foreign-exchange, settlement and compliance requirements. Establishing local, regulated payment rails could help reduce friction in treasury operations and strengthen the infrastructure supporting transactions between the United States and Mexico.

The company said it has established a local team and begun compliant operations in Mexico. Its service will facilitate transfers between pesos and dollars through a money-transmission institution registered with Mexico’s National Banking and Securities Commission, or CNBV. Sphere Labs did not disclose a formal launch date, transaction volumes, transfer limits, pricing or the amount invested in the expansion.
