Mt. Gox Moves More Than 10,000 Bitcoin Worth $739 Million
Mt. Gox was once one of the world’s largest Bitcoin exchanges before collapsing in 2014 following a hack and an asset shortfall. Its creditor repayment process has dragged on for years. Any transfer or distribution of its large Bitcoin holdings could lead creditors to sell, making the movements an important gauge of potential market selling pressure.
Mt. Gox transferred 10,422 Bitcoin from a cold wallet to a new wallet on Tuesday. Worth about $739 million at the time, it was the largest single transfer in months. With the creditor repayment deadline set for October 31, 2026, the market is watching whether the assets will be used for another round of repayments.
