AMD Zen 7 Reportedly Taps TSMC’s A14 Process to Boost AI Agent and RAG Inference

Generative AI workloads are expanding beyond model training to AI agents and retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG. CPUs are regaining importance because they handle data retrieval, memory management and system coordination. AMD is therefore reportedly reshaping its data-center strategy to position Zen 7 as more than a supporting compute core for GPUs.

As of July 20, 2026, market reports indicated that AMD Zen 7 would use TSMC’s A14 process and pair it with 3D V-Cache to expand cache capacity, reducing data-access latency during AI agent and RAG inference. AMD and TSMC have not announced a mass-production date, product pricing or formal specifications.
