AI Boom Propels ASE’s Chang Brothers to Top of Forbes Taiwan Rich List for First Time
Generative AI and high-performance computing have boosted demand for advanced packaging, testing, servers and power systems, lifting Taiwan’s semiconductor exports and technology shares. Forbes estimates fortunes based on assets including corporate holdings. The reshuffled rankings also reflect the accelerating flow of wealth toward AI hardware suppliers such as ASE Technology Holding, Hon Hai and Delta Electronics.
Forbes released the list on June 11, 2026, using share prices and exchange rates as of May 22. The combined wealth of Taiwan’s 50 richest people rose 56% from a year earlier to $308 billion. ASE Technology Holding brothers Jason Chang and Richard Chang added $14.5 billion to their fortune, taking the top spot for the first time with $22.4 billion. Terry Gou ranked fourth, while Bruce Cheng climbed 16 places to seventh.
