Nokia and Defense Startup Anduril Launch AI-Powered 5G Communications Sentry Tower
Anduril's Sentry towers have been deployed at borders, bases and critical infrastructure since 2017, using sensors and the Lattice AI system to track targets. Nokia, meanwhile, has expanded its telecommunications equipment business into AI and defense communications. NVIDIA announced a $1 billion investment in Nokia on October 28, 2025, underscoring its bet on AI-native 5G and 6G networks.
Anduril and Nokia Federal Solutions unveiled the 5G Comms Sentry Tower on April 30, 2026, combining Sentry hardware, Nokia private 5G and Lattice software. A single tower covers several kilometers and delivers download speeds of more than 1,000 Mbps. It can be activated within three hours where no existing power or network infrastructure is available.
