Solana Establishes Research Institute to Expand European Institutional Business
Solana has worked in recent years to extend its high-performance blockchain into traditional finance. Greater regulatory clarity in Europe and rising demand for onchain transactions and asset tokenization have also prompted banks and asset managers to place more emphasis on assessments of technology, risk and compliance. A dedicated research institute could lower the information barriers facing financial institutions considering Solana adoption.
Solana announced the establishment of the Solana Research Institute, or SRI, in Switzerland. Focused on Europe, it will help financial institutions assess the Solana blockchain’s performance, applications and regulatory considerations, further strengthening the ecosystem’s institutional presence. At the time of the report, officials had not disclosed SRI’s exact launch date, the amount invested or the names of its initial partner institutions.
