Physical AI Seen as Key Path to AGI

Physical AI combines perception, reasoning and real-world action, allowing AI systems to learn and perform tasks in physical environments. Experts say such systems are more likely than software confined to data centers to develop capabilities that could lead to artificial general intelligence, or AGI, making the field an important focus for the robotics and computing industries.

Recent reports say experts and business leaders increasingly view Physical AI as a key path toward AGI. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has described the robotics industry as having reached its “ChatGPT moment.” As of the reports’ publication, no related investment amounts, product launch dates or commercial deployment figures had been announced.
