Chaos Labs Targeted in Suspected Nation-State Attack, Says Oracle Network Remains Secure

Chaos Labs provides crypto risk management and infrastructure services, while its Chaos Oracle Network supplies data to blockchain applications. Any manipulation of its oracles could affect DeFi pricing, liquidations and lending. The attack affected only a wallet used for routine onchain operations, and the company did not disclose the amount of any financial loss.

Founder Omer Goldberg said on May 7, 2026, that the company detected a suspected nation-state attack over the May 2–3 weekend, immediately triggering its highest-severity response and a full lockdown. Chaos Labs has rotated all keys and said its globally distributed, operationally isolated Oracle nodes were not compromised. It has detected no further suspicious activity and is working with authorities and cybersecurity experts on the investigation.
