Nium Launches Domestic Card Issuance in US
Nium provides real-time cross-border payment infrastructure for businesses moving money across markets. Adding domestic card issuance in the United States broadens its role beyond international transfers, giving the company a stronger foothold in one of the world’s largest payments markets and expanding the reach of its multi-region issuing platform into North America.
Nium said it has launched domestic card issuance in the US, marking the latest expansion of its global payments and fintech network. The available announcement did not specify a launch date, partner bank, expected card volumes or transaction value. The key development is the addition of US-based issuance to a platform already designed to support card programs across multiple regions.

The history behind this eventNium Launches US Card Issuing to Target Business Travel Payments
Companies operating across borders often rely on separate card issuers, integrations and compliance processes in each market. The problem is acute in travel, where one booking can require different payment methods for airlines, hotels and ground operators. Singapore-based Nium is positioning its unified issuing, payments, foreign-exchange and reconciliation platform as an alternative, targeting a virtual-card market it says could reach $15.14 trillion by 2031, with North America accounting for about 45% of the projected growth.
Nium said on Aug. 19, 2026, it had launched domestic card issuance in the United States, extending a platform already operating across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. Businesses can issue physical or virtual Visa and Mastercard credentials, with US dollars supported initially, while accessing payouts in more than 190 countries and embedded foreign exchange in over 35 currencies. Nium said it issued more than 41 million card credentials during the previous 12 months and is bringing its just-in-time funding model to US customers.
