1 reports · First detected 2026-06-25 · Last active 2026-06-25

Stablecoins are emerging as a tool for reducing cross-border remittance costs and connecting with local financial systems in developing markets. A Bitso report showed that stablecoin trading volume among its Latin American institutional clients rose 81% year on year in the first half of 2026, while financial institutions accounted for more than 60% of new corporate clients. Trace Finance raised $32 million that same month and has processed more than $10 billion in cumulative volume, underscoring growing corporate demand.

Blockchain.com launched a corporate payments platform in Brazil on June 24, 2026, using USDC and USDT to support cross-border treasury operations, supplier payments and payroll. On the same day, KuCoin connected KuCoin Pay to Mexico's SPEI; Bangladesh's bKash and Nagad; and the MTN and Airtel mobile-payment networks in Zambia. Neither company disclosed fees, investment amounts or transaction limits.
