Nanya Technology Brings in SK Hynix and Others to Target Edge AI
Edge AI shifts computing to end devices and networking equipment, fueling demand for DRAM, NAND Flash and enterprise SSDs. Nanya Technology’s placement brings in Solidigm, an SK Hynix subsidiary, as well as Sandisk, Kioxia and Cisco. The deal not only provides funding for capacity expansion but also creates a strategic network linking a memory manufacturer, storage companies and a systems customer, supporting process upgrades and supply-chain development.
Nanya Technology announced on March 25, 2026, that it would privately place 351.578 million shares at NT$223.9 each, raising a total of NT$78.718 billion. Sandisk was the largest subscriber, taking about 138.65 million shares for NT$31.043 billion. After the announcement, the stock hit its daily limit of NT$249 on March 26 before turning lower. It closed down 0.44% at NT$225.5, reflecting short-term market volatility, though industry observers remained optimistic about the long-term benefits of the partnerships.
