Google Unveils Gemini Spark AI Assistant Using iPhone 17 Pro for Demo

Google introduced Gemini Spark at Google I/O 2026 as an always-on personal AI agent. Built around Gemini 3.5 and connected to Google Workspace services including Gmail and Docs, it targets users who need to handle email, documents and everyday tasks across multiple tools, while competing with agentic products such as OpenClaw.

The latest demonstration showed Gemini Spark running on Gemini 3.5 Flash and operating in the background 24/7 on a standalone virtual machine. The decision by a Google executive to demonstrate it on an Apple iPhone 17 Pro at the 2026 launch event, rather than on the company’s own Pixel, sparked discussion and underscored Google’s focus on high-spending users in Apple’s ecosystem.
