Anthropic Relaunches Claude Code Projects for Parallel Cloud Agents

Anthropic’s Claude Code is an AI coding tool designed to help developers inspect, modify and run software projects through conversational workflows. Cross-session messaging matters because coding agents have typically operated in isolated chats, forcing users to repeatedly supply project context. Allowing sessions to exchange summaries points toward a more collaborative model in which multiple AI agents can divide work and hand tasks to one another.

Claude Code has now added messaging between separate sessions, enabling one conversation to pass a context summary and task information to another. The feature is intended to reduce the time developers spend copying background details across windows and help agents resume or coordinate work with less manual setup. Anthropic did not disclose a precise launch date, adoption figures or financial terms in the information provided.

Anthropic launched Claude Code in February 2025, allowing developers to use natural language in the terminal to read and write code, run tests and handle tasks spanning multiple files. As AI agents increasingly work on multiple tasks in parallel, centralized progress tracking and fewer terminal switches and code conflicts have become more important. The desktop app has consequently evolved into an integrated development workstation.

Anthropic launched a redesigned Claude Code desktop app on April 14, 2026, adding a multi-session sidebar and drag-and-drop layouts. It integrates a terminal, file editing, diff views and live previews, and offers three display modes. On May 11, it also released an Agent View research preview that lets users centrally monitor and respond to background agents. The feature is available on Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise and API plans.
