Bitcoin Faces Near-Term Pressure as Global Liquidity Tightens
Global liquidity reflects the amount of capital available in markets. When major central banks shrink their balance sheets and keep interest rates elevated, investors typically reduce their exposure to volatile risk assets such as Bitcoin. The outlook from crypto asset manager Hilbert Group has therefore drawn attention because it could influence near-term capital flows and market valuations.
Hilbert Group Chief Investment Officer Russell Thompson warned in July 2026 that global liquidity could tighten by about 25%, putting downward pressure on Bitcoin in the short term. He nevertheless maintained a bullish medium- to long-term outlook, saying Bitcoin could challenge its all-time high in 2027 after the Federal Reserve intervenes and financial conditions ease.
