Taiwan’s FSC Uses AI to Remove More Than 107,000 Investment Scam Ads
Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission has deployed AI to identify suspicious advertisements and stop online investment scams at their source. It is also working with other government agencies and online platforms to accelerate reporting and removal. The initiative aims to protect investors’ assets as fraud rings continue using social media ads, celebrity impersonation and free-gift pitches to lure people into investment groups.
By the publication of related reports in July 2026, the FSC had proactively removed more than 107,000 investment scam ads. It did not disclose the amount of money involved. The regulator warned that online ads featuring terms such as “free book,” “knowledge sharing” or “claim for free” are highly likely to be funnels for scams, and urged the public not to click links or provide personal or financial information.
