The Netherlands is a European fintech leader and home to payments giants including Adyen and Mollie. Supportive regulation from the Dutch central bank and openness to emerging technologies such as AI have deeply integrated fintech into daily life, making the country an important gauge of Europe's digital financial transformation.
According to a report by Techleap, the Dutch technology sector secured €2.64 billion in venture-capital funding in 2025. The Dutch central bank launched a revised payments strategy in 2026 and accelerated implementation of the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, or MiCA. Outstanding fintech loans in the country rose from €1.8 billion in 2021 to €4.4 billion at the end of 2024.
