Entire Launches Distributed Git Network to Spread AI Agents’ Read Load
As AI coding agents rapidly gain traction in software development, large volumes of highly concurrent read requests are creating severe server-load and rate-limit challenges for conventional centralized code-hosting platforms such as GitHub. Thomas Dohmke, GitHub’s former chief executive, founded the startup Entire to address this infrastructure bottleneck by rebuilding Git as a distributed network for the AI era and preventing traffic constraints from disrupting development workflows.
Entire completed a $60 million seed funding round led by Felicis in February 2026, reaching a valuation of $300 million. In July 2026, the startup formally launched its distributed Git network service and released ForgeMark, an open-source benchmarking tool that helps companies evaluate server performance under high-throughput AI access.
