Consensus Policy Summit Heads to Miami to Tackle Crypto Regulation and Stablecoin Trends
Following the implementation of the GENIUS Act in the United States, the regulatory focus has shifted to the CLARITY Act’s market-structure provisions, stablecoin yields, DeFi anti-money-laundering rules and crypto taxation. CoinDesk has therefore made policy a core part of the Consensus 2026 agenda. First-time sponsorships from Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan signal that Wall Street is moving from the sidelines to helping shape digital-asset rules.
Consensus 2026 will take place in Miami from May 5–7, with more than 15,000 attendees expected. Institutional participants are projected to account for about 35% of the total and represent roughly $10 trillion in assets under management. An eight-hour Policy Summit on May 7 will focus on DeFi, 1099-DA tax reporting and stablecoins. On April 17, French Finance Minister Roland Lescure also backed plans by 10 European banks to issue a euro stablecoin in the second half of 2026 and develop tokenized deposits.
