loveholidays Opens Software Development to All Employees With Codex

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-26 · Last active 2026-08-26

loveholidays operates in eight European markets and processes 60 trillion package combinations a day, relying on an in-house technology platform to make holiday search and booking more flexible. Software experiments previously competed for scarce engineering time, slowing ideas from product, design and commercial teams. By deploying OpenAI Codex, the online travel agent is opening its codebases and internal workflows to non-engineers while allowing specialist developers to concentrate on more complex platform work.

OpenAI published the case study on Aug. 26, 2026. loveholidays said AI-assisted code changes rose to 79% from 7% over the past year, an 11-fold increase, while deployment frequency climbed 73% with engineering headcount broadly flat. Data Platform change success improved to 93% from 58%, and self-service infrastructure success reached 90% from 63%. The company also reported annual savings of about £36,000 in cloud storage and roughly £100,000 from reduced data-processing waste.
