Digital-Olfaction AI Robots Enter Production Lines, Bolstering Industrial Safety Alerts and Decision-Making

1 reports · First detected 2026-03-03 · Last active 2026-03-03

Industrial safety and security systems have traditionally relied largely on video, audio and fixed sensors, making it difficult to detect trace odors from gas leaks or scorched materials early. Ainos converts odors into data that AI can interpret. On August 6, 2025, it secured a $2.1 million order from a company under ASE Technology Holding, moving digital olfaction beyond proof-of-concept testing and into semiconductor production-line applications.

Ainos announced a partnership with Mirle Automation on February 2, 2026, to integrate AI Nose into mobile and quadruped robots. A March 3 report said shipments had begun. With support from ASE Technology Holding, the companies are advancing deployment so robots can proactively patrol for unusual odors. Tiered decision-making protocols are still needed, however, to govern shutdowns, alerts and personnel authorization.
