Bilibili Relaunches International App, Eases Creator Checks
Bilibili is reviving its international push by seeking to export the creator community and video-platform expertise it built in China. The strategy centers on lowering barriers for overseas contributors, giving them more ways to earn income and using artificial intelligence to make content accessible across languages. Its ability to attract creators and local audiences will be critical as the company works to expand its content supply and compete in global video markets.
The company has relisted its international app and removed a requirement for overseas creators to submit passports or similar identity documents. Bilibili plans three monetization channels: revenue sharing, virtual tipping and a marketplace connecting creators with brands. It is also introducing cross-language AI dubbing to reduce viewing barriers. The platform is recruiting localization and operations staff in cities including Los Angeles and London as it accelerates its overseas expansion.
