FNBO to Acquire Blue Ridge Bancshares, Extending Kansas City Expansion
First National Bank of Omaha, or FNBO, is part of First National of Nebraska, which has $35 billion in assets. FNBO completed its acquisition of Country Club Bank on October 1, 2025, adding 20 branches in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Its latest move less than a year later shows that it is continuing to expand its local deposit base and branch network.
FNBO signed an agreement on June 2, 2026, to acquire Blue Ridge Bancshares of Independence, Missouri, and its Blue Ridge Bank and Trust Co. subsidiary. Financial terms were not disclosed. The target has about $882 million in assets and eight branches. The transaction is expected to receive approval by year-end, with the rebranding to be completed in early 2027, making FNBO the fifth-largest bank in the market by deposit share.
